Moenes Iskarous, PhD, is a senior director and machine learning architect at SK hynix, a leading manufacturer of semiconductors, where he focuses on developing image sensor intelligence. He is also an adjunct professor teaching graduate courses and advising AI programs for academic institutions, such as the University of California Santa Cruz's Silicon Valley Extension and San Jose State University.
Iskarous specializes in technical innovation for embedded edge intelligence applied to autonomous systems, computer vision and robotics. He was a member of the founding team of SiMa.ai, a startup focused on disruptive computing that enabled high-performance machine learning while reducing the technology’s extraordinary environmental impact. While there, he built embedded machine learning technology for embedded edge devices.
Iskarous also spent more than two decades working at Intel, where he contributed to pioneering projects within research, architecture modeling, validation, performance analysis and software development.
Iskarous holds a PhD from Vanderbilt University in neural networks architectures and their applications in intelligent robotics and explainable AI models. He has published over 25 technical papers and holds four patents, with others pending approval.
He sits on various advisory boards of AI companies, as well as academic institutions advising them in their development of AI and machine learning programs.
